Marvel Games Universe: here are the 5 games we want after Marvel's Spider-Man

After reading the two-hour test done on Marvel's Spider-Man and the answers given during the round table by Bryan Inthiar, Creative Director of the game, a question arises: what if Marvel's Spider-Man was just the first in a list of games set in the same universe, the Marvel Games Universe? We had already theorized it here, but with the realization of this idea, an interesting question immediately starts: which games would we like to play, set in this phantom Marvel universe, after the one with Spider-Man?

Iron Man

It will be the arrival of Anthem, or the charm of armor, but a properly made Iron Man game could really be a huge success. The first two Iron Man films had received their videogame counterpart, but creating a well-structured game, with the possibility of modifying one's armor through RPG components, up to customizing it for each mission and enemy, would not be the dream of every lover of Tony Stark? We have also often seen how Iron Man calls AI-controlled armor to help: a great ploy to add a fun and exciting multiplayer mode.

Iron Man's enemies, starting with Mandarin and arriving at all armored enemies such as Iron Monger, would allow you to bring exciting boss fights to consoles, as they have not seen for a long time. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have already associated Iron Man with Spider-Man, those in the comics know well the relationship between them after Civil War: for this reason the most obvious idea is also the most logical, that is to create an Iron Man game exactly after the Marvel's Spider-Man coming to PlayStation 4.

The Defenders - Heroes for Sale

If you talked to a comic book enthusiast about Defenders, would undoubtedly list this team.

On the contrary, for those who loved TV series Netflix, these immediately come to mind.

Without disrespect to the training with Namor, a fun game to be able to see on consoles and PC would be precisely the one dedicated to Defenders of Netflix, which, however, are much more reminiscent of the much loved Heroes for Sale (comics group formed by Luke Cage e Iron Fist, as well as Misty Knight and Coleen Wing. A game interspersed with missions where one (or more characters) is used as needed, would follow the gameplay of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, but using well-structured melee dynamics (perhaps taking up the gameplay of the same Batman Arkham Saga). Here too the multiplayer could peep out, and given the location shared with Spider-Man, they could easily be presented by the wall climber.

Black Widow

Espionage games have existed in boxes: Alias, Siphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid, just to name a few, they managed to insert stealth gameplay mechanics in a realistic world, full of twists and secrets. Black Widow in the comic lives in a similar world, and replicating it within a game, with all the trappings studied by the previous Game Designers, would certainly honor the character.

The anti-heroine herself lends herself a lot to spectacular moves, and is a great expert on weapons of all kinds. The story of the character is also one of the most interesting ever, and given the presence of other spies with the same name, it would not be difficult to create an intriguing videogame spy-story. If we add to this enemies such as AIM, Elektra and Bullseye (which would reconnect to the Defenders), we would not have a game of superheroes and explosive scenes in front of us, but we could take a breath of fresh air, departing from tie-ins based always on spectacular and respectable actions (let's remember how The Punisher for Ps2 had a similar imprint).

Captain America

The first avenger, the last to appear. While it's easy to make a movie about this hero, it's hard to make a game out of it. The few moves available, combined with plots based on combat based on strategy and intelligence, do not succeed well in a video game. What would do well, however, would be importing the shrewdest Steve Rogers seen in comics, inserting stories on the edge of the spectacular (with shoulders like Falcon and Black Widow herself), and maybe placing enemies like Red Skull, Zemo or maybe Crossbones.

As in all superhero games (except Superman), too Captain America It would lend itself to Batman-like gameplay, but instead of detective intelligence and gadgets, we could have military support, strategic intelligence, and battle planning, as the Captain America (from the comic) can.

Avengers

A similar title is already in production in Square Enix, and we saw it some time ago with a teaser.

The video is uploaded to the channel of Marvel Entertainment, and this undoubtedly decrees the official nature of the product: but then after playing titles with Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Defenders, Black Widow and Captain America, why not find a game that takes everything we have to date lived and puts it in a unique context? It worked with the comic book Avengers, it was also successful in the cinema, I doubt the formula could be a flop in the video game.

The teaser leaves little information, but it sure looks like the lineup we learned about over the course of the MCU. A gameplay similar to Ultimate Alliance, with Diablo-like systems and great customization possibilities, it could show a very structured game on the technical side, but not very spectacular. On the other hand, repeating the visual success of the films could greatly reduce the gameplay, but given the work done on Spider-Man (which now seems to combine both characteristics), and given the developer behind the project, there is hope.

That's all for us, maybe we could find five more games to see later Spider-Man, but these are now the ones that would do best, would have more success, and would pave the way for a Marvel Studios work structured to years (as in the MCU). And you, which ones would you like to see?
