Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, the new trailer shows us the gameplay and game modes

Looking forward to the debut of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, set for the next October 16 2020, Nintendo e Velan Studios in the past few hours have released a brand new trailer dedicated to the famous racing game of the Kyoto house. The full-bodied clip, which you can easily retrieve on the cover, shows us some of the innovative game mechanics, focusing in particular on how the augmented reality title will work. We report in detail the main news of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit:

What is Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit?

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is a new Mario Kart experience for both series veterans and newcomers, launching for the Nintendo Switch family of systems on October 16. Created in collaboration by Nintendo and Velan Studios, the title uses AR technology to bridge the gap between the virtual world of Mario Kart and the real world of your home, bringing Mushroom Kingdom motorsports to life with a combination of on-screen gameplay and physical kart racing.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit includes a kart, with Mario or Luigi in the driver's seat, depending on the set chosen, plus four gates, two arrow signs that can be used to improve courses and a USB charging cable for the kart . The software comes in the form of a free download from Nintendo eShop, which, once downloaded, synchronizes with the physical hardware of the kart.

    Grand Prix

The main mode of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is the Grand Prix, which allows you to take on the Koopalings in eight Grand Prix Cups, with 24 different races in total. In each race, the familiar elements of Mario Kart in the game influence the physical kart itself, taking the fast-paced fun of Mario Kart to a whole new dimension. Grabbing a mushroom in the game gives the physical kart a speed boost, while being hit by a red shell will stop the kart. There will be some of the objects that made the Mario Kart series famous, including slippery bananas, Bloopers that spill ink and even Bullet Bills that allow the kart to move at high speed on the course, steering alone.

In addition, there will be several environmental themes, such as underwater, volcanic-themed and retro tracks. Have decided to spice things up further by introducing a variety of dangers and play features that affect karting in real life. Collecting coins in the title will also unlock customization options, allowing players to spruce up their on-screen appearance with different costumes and kart types. Similar to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, there is also a steering assist option to help the kart stay on track and allow younger or less experienced players to join in the fun.

    Other modes

In addition to the Grand Prix mode, there will be other game modes:

Personalized race: This mode gives players even more room for creativity by designing not only the physical layout of the course, but also the ability to add hazards, objects and more to create truly unique creations.
Time trials: Players create a course and then compete to set the best possible time, competing against their personal best or handing the controller over to another player for an exciting head-to-head time trial, requiring only a Nintendo Switch console and one game of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.
Mirror mode: For those who want an even higher level of challenge, this mode allows you to play all the cups of the Grand Prix in a mirror image, with the right turns turning to the left and so on.

But that's not all, as by owning multiple Nintendo Switches and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit games, up to four players can race against each other in Grand Prix or Custom Race mode. With so many different ways to play and the ability to use furniture, toys and other household items to create unique home racecourses every time, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit offers a world of possibilities for imaginative drivers of all ages and experience levels.

Please note that Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit will be available in set dedicated to Mario e Luigi starting from the next October 16 2020 exclusively on Nintendo Switch, and will be the company's first racing game to take advantage of augmented reality.
