While the next expansion of Magic: The Gathering, Rebirth of Zendikar will arrive in stores on September 25th and on MTG Arena on September 17th, W revealed the names of some expansions coming to the Magic world, most of them coming out in the course of 2021. During the presentation of the new Zendikar Rebirth expansion, more than twenty cards were revealed, through which players have had a chance to see some mechanics return, such as Augment and Mainland, as well as unreleased ones and expansion packs. In addition, Wizards of the Coast has outlined what expansions will be released over the course of the next year, which also include a crossover with the famous RPG. Dungeons & Dragons and a further expansion focusing on werewolves and vampires.
Here are the expansions of Magic: The Gathering that will be released in the course of 2021:
- Strixhaven - The most elite university in the Multiverse - Spring 2021
- Adventures in the Forgotten Realms - Dungeons & Dragons comes to Magic - Summer 2021
- Innistrad (two currently unnamed expansions) - Werewolves and Vampires are Back - Fall 2021
- Kaldheim - The Viking World of Magic - Winter 2021
- Time Spiral Remastered - Reclaim the fan favorite block
- Modern Horizons 2 - A sequel to the popular Modern Horizons set
In addition to this, the Magic team has revealed what will be two of the releases coming soon to the game world, namely Secret Lair: Yargle Day and an incredible collaboration with AMC's acclaimed post-apocalyptic television series, The Walking Dead, of which no official information has yet been released. In fact, it seems that very soon players will be able to get their hands on an expansion that will take them directly to the world of The Walking Dead, the post-apocalyptic TV show based on the comic series of the same name written by R. The Walking Dead tells the story of Rick Grimes, a deputy sheriff who after being in a coma due to an accident during a firefight, awakens to a world in decline, where the dead have come back to life and are threatening the survival of the living. So we just have to wait for more information on the new expansions of Magic coming in the course of 2021.
