An extended gameplay of Mafia: Definitive Edition, from the duration of 14 minutes. The movie was scheduled for today at 17:00, but during the night a video appeared on the Modded Games YouTube channel that anticipated the official reveal. Throughout the gameplay there is commentary from Haden Blackman (president of Hangar 13), which explains in detail the features of this remake. While leaving the history of the game intact, the authors have made a series of changes, as usual for a remake: in the title we will be able to enjoy an updated script, seasoned with new dialogues, expanded secondary quests and additional cut-scenes, all made with the same graphics engine as Mafia III.
Narrative isn't the only thing that has received a substantial upgrade. In the gameplay of Mafia: Definitive Edition we are in fact shown a mission of the main story, called "Trip to the Country“, Here the protagonist has to face enemies on a farm. At this juncture, it is possible to note that the shooting system is very similar to that of the second and third chapter, and that therefore the new work of Hangar 13 is designed to be a real update compared to the original title, which is now well behind 18 years.
This remake of the first Mafia seems to promise really well, as it brings back the atmosphere of the original title together with a revisited gameplay, to make everything in step with the times. We remind you that the game has unfortunately been postponed for September 25th to PC, PlayStation 4 e Xbox One, and that it will be possible to buy it both separately and together with Mafia Trilogy, is a collection that also includes the remastered Mafia II, of which you can find our review at the following link. We hope to find out more information before the release, which is fortunately not particularly far away.
