Kotaku UK: definitive closure of the site announced

In the past few hours, with great surprise, Kotaku UK has officially declared publicly that it will close definitively shortly. Before closing its doors, however, Rick Stanton, editor of the site for 3 years, wanted to say hello. In addition to this, Future Publishing's publishing agreements will not be renewed starting from the next expiration date, 9 September 2020. The reasons for this last gesture have not been given, at least not in a precise way.

As the man himself said, the site began way back September 2014, exactly 6 years ago. In addition to this, it was specified that this gesture does not mark the extinction of Kotaku, but only of the UK division: the US and Australian divisions in fact will not cease to exist for any reason, quite the contrary! Stanton he also thanked not just all of his colleagues with whom he has collaborated over the years (Keza MacDonald, Dave 'Captain' Basch, Julian Benson, Leon Hurley, Alistair Jones, Kelly Kanayama, Laura Kate Dale, Tom Pritchard, Kimberley Snaith, Jack Tomlin and CJ Wheeler ).

Before concluding the message, a brief dedication was also made to readers, who over the years have always kept the site active until today and have created a sort of community around it. Staying in the midst of the videogame theme, did you know that the version was announced in the past few hours multiplayer standalone of cyberpunk 2077?
