Konami released data on earnings in the first months offiscal year 2021. Among these we can note an increase in the profits of the video games section, called digital entertainment, not indifferent. The merit would be of some titles dedicated to the Japanese market, including a game released on Nintendo Switch named Momotaro Dentetsu. The profits of the gaming division, compared to the past year have increased by 79,4%, a fact that highlights the more than positive trend of the company. However, the same cannot be said of Konami's branch dedicated to slots, Pachinko and Arcade video games which, due to the pandemic of COVID-19, he has seen his income drop considerably.
Konami has recently been the focus of several news reports from the trade press a closure of the company's three divisions dedicated to video game development. Konami itself then denied these rumors by explaining that it is a simple restructuring of the various sections of the company, reiterating that the gaming world will still be an important part of his future projects. Konami owes part of its success in recent months to Momotaro Dentetsu Showa Heisei Reiwa mo Teiban! The title, a kind of board game, similar to monopolies, is part of a very long-lived series that has dozens of titles released almost exclusively in Japan. The game has sold over 2,5 million of copies on Nintendo Switch in just three months from launch, which took place in November 2020 only in Japan. Basically Konami is doing just fine and, analyzing the above, the merit would be almost exclusively of the video game market dedicated to the public of the rising sun. It will be very curious to see how the publisher he will move in the future after these exciting economic goals, hoping, however, that he will not close in a market dedicated only to his mother country.
