Kingdom Come: Deliverance, live-action adaptation ready

Kingdom Come: Deliverance, live-action adaptation ready

It seems that Kingdom Come: Deliverance di Warhorse Studios will soon have its own live-action adaptation. We do not yet know if the title will become a movie or a TV series, but, according to what he reports Variety, it will be a collaboration between Warhorse Studios and Wild Sheep Content, with Erik Barmack (former executive Netflix) and the CEO of Warhorse, Martin Frývaldský, which will produce the live-action adaptation. Indeed it seems that Barmack and Frývaldský are reaching out to potential writers and directors to expand the creative team on the work.

Barmack talked about the nature of video games, adaptable to different contexts, and the ways in which they can offer incredible worlds with regional and global popularity, which streamers continually seek to reach in order to become more and more international.

It's particularly interesting that narrative-heavy video games, such as The Witcher and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, are uniquely adaptable and that they are local but global at the same time.

Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, PR Manager of Warhorse Studios, then added:

The biggest feedback we've gotten from the gaming community and reviewers is that this is a very believable and also very easily recognizable story where it's easy to identify with a not-so-heroic hero.

The Kingdom Come: Deliverance adaptation adds to an ever-growing streak of movies and TV series based on video games that have been announced, planned, or are currently in production. Among these we remember the TV series Fallout di Amazon, the anime cyberpunk 2077 of Netflix and live-action Yakuza di Sega.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released in 2018. It has received a lot of praise for being a open world action RPG with a strong emphasis on realism, with gameplay built to make the fights as truthful as possible. It recently surpassed the three million copies sold on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
