Killzone: Sony closes the official website of the game, no new chapter coming?

The saga of Killzone is certainly one of the most important in the PlayStation universe, yet, it would seem that Sony has no intention of continuing to support the series of FPS developed by Guerrilla GAMES and that we will therefore not see a new chapter on PlayStation 5. As reported by some users, the official website of the game is no longer accessible and refers to a page showing a message from the Development Team, which officially announces the closure of the domain and specifies that from now on, visitors of the site will be redirected to the PlayStation web portal.

    Dear visitor of Killzone.com,

The official website of the KILLZONE franchise has been closed. From now on, visitors to Killzone.com will be redirected to the PlayStation.com site.

While this change will not affect online multiplayer modes, player stats or KILLZONE MERCENARY and KILLZONE SHADOW FALL rankings, it will no longer be possible to create or manage clans within KILLZONE SHADOW FALL from here on out. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Thanks to all the fans and visitors of Killzone.com for all the love and support shown over the years.

    Cordially,

    Guerrilla

Despite the closure of the site, it will still be possible to play the various multiplayer modes of Mercenary e Shadow Fall, although some features will no longer be available.

We do not officially know whether or not it is the cancellation of the series, but, at this point, the announcement of a new chapter on PlayStation 5, as had been anticipated by some rumors of the past few months. In particular, a user had identified a clue inherent to the saga during the presentation of the official PlayStation 5 dashboard.

Finally, we remind you that, Killzone: Shadow Fall, released in the now distant 2013 as the launch title of PlayStation 4, is the last chapter of the saga and since then we have not had any official news on the future of the series developed by Guerrilla Games.
