Kerbal Space Program 2: Take-Two prompted Star Theory to close

As reported by the reporter Jason Schreier on Bloomberg, Take-Two Interactive would have forced Star Theory Games, development studio previously working on Kerbal Space Program 2, to permanently close its doors. Last December, in fact, the executive producer of Take-Two apparently sent a message to the team in which he communicated that the game had been entrusted to a new studio, also trying to hire the developers who were working on the project to integrate them into the group. internal, giving it some extra benefits.

However, not all Star Theory members agreed with this choice, even though the team lost a third of its members. Among the latter were also the creative director Nate Simpson, the producer Nate Robinson and the manager Jeremy Ables, who are now in charge of Intercept Games, name of the new team working on the title. The remaining developers in Star Theory therefore found themselves with fewer developers and without a contract, also having to deal with the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus, which then led the team to definitively close last March.

Recall that, although when it was announced at Gamescom 2019 it was scheduled for 2020, Kerbal Space Program 2 will arrive on consoles and PC later, in the course of 2021.

Last year, things were going well at Star Theory, the independent video game studio behind Kerbal Space Program 2.

Then Take-Two canceled their contract and tried to poach all their staff on LinkedIn.

My first big story for Bloomberg is a wild one: https://t.co/fT8x3zvWXN
