Keanu Reeves was discarded by Kojima for the role in Death Stranding

During the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 which was held in the past few hours, Hideo Kojima has officially revealed the official cover of his new work Death Stranding - which you can see in this article - and also explained why his game is so different from other titles that already exist on the market, also making known how the role now entrusted to Mads Mikkelsen had been proposed in principle to another equally valid actor.

We are talking about Keanu Reeves (protagonist of John Wick, Matrix, etc ..). Kojima, after initially thinking of him as a game character she opted for the Danish actor Mikkelsen for the role in his next title; this choice made the good Keanu Reeves tack to work with CD Project RED for the equally promising Cyberpunk 2077.

In addition, Kojima also wanted to have his say on why Death Stranding is so different from other titles and let slip a joke about the Battle Royale genre:

There is no reason to create something that already exists. I want to create something that inspires the world. […] What I do is create something difficult to demolish when you can digest my work. When I release a game of mine or when Nicolas [Refn, editor's note] releases a film, we get criticism or praise. But you keep thinking about the product even ten years later, as happened with Blade Runner or 2001: A Space Odyssey.

When I started Kojima Productions for the first time, the easiest thing to do would have been to create a game where everyone is on an island shooting at each other.

We remind you that the title is out on November 8 2019 on the console PlayStation 4.
