Justice League: A photo from the set of the Snyder Cut

The director of photography of Justice League, Fabian Wagner, recently posted a mysterious photo on their account Instagram portraying a backstage: the photo shows a series of screens set up on a stage. Knowing that the future Snyder Cut will have some new photographs, and that Fabian Wagner will return to his position as cinematographer in this new version of the film about the heroes of DC Comics, it is easy to assume that the photo comes directly from the set of the new full version of the film.

Wagner's IMDb page also reports that the Snyder Cut e Monster Butler are his only two projects that will see the light in the next period: we also consider that Monster Butler is still in a pre-production phase, while the Snyder Cut is in a much more advanced phase. Even if the photo doesn't reveal much, the blue screens, and the tag used, #vfx, suggest a work strongly focused on graphic effects. This is a further clue, as much of the visual effects made for the Snyder Cut look different from the previous theatrical version, as we have already seen from the teaser trailer. The director himself recently shared a frame of the new look of Steppenwolf, revealing a digital design overhaul it has revisited the character's appearance compared to the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The Snyder Cut will come up HBO Max in 2021 with a sizable budget of $ 70 million. Bob Greenblatt, former HBO boss Max, said about the new Justice League movie:

“It's not as easy as walking into the vault and taking the money if there's a Snyder Cut to do. Does not exist. Zack is actually building it and it's complex, including the new visual effects. It's a radical rethinking of that film and it's complicated and incredibly expensive. I'll just say I wish it was only 30 million. It is a huge and very complex undertaking ”.
