Judgment: The Yakuza spin-off will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X / S and Stadia

Judgment, the successful experiment of the creators of the historical Yakuza saga will arrive remastered on PS5, Xbox Series X / S e Google Stadia il April 23 2021. The publisher Sega, through a post on his social profiles, he revealed the news that will only make the fans of the series happy Toshihiro Nagoshi. The game, released in 2018 exclusively PS4 will therefore also arrive on other platforms with improved textures, 60 FPS e reduced loads. Users Microsoft products will finally be able to play this particular title set in the lively Kamurocho, a fictional historic district made famous thanks to the adventures of Kiryu Kazuma in the main numbered series of Yakuza.

Judgment was born as spin off in its own right, so you don't need to have played the other games in the original series to better enjoy the story proposed by the title. In the role of Takayuki Yagami, a former lawyer who for obscure reasons has turned to private investigations, we will have to investigate a series of heinous murders that have wreaked havoc on the streets of Kamurocho, a red light district where organized crime is king. One of the unreleased features in the original saga is the use of different investigation systems that our detective will use to solve his cases. Stalking, spy drones and interrogations are just some of the methods our Yagami will use to unmask the criminals hiding in the chaotic and dangerous neighborhood.

Judgment was an unexpected sales success. In Japan, it sold an impressive 148.000 copies in the first week of availability, making it the best launch in Japan for a new IP, a record however broken a few months later by Death Stranding. In addition to good sales and a very good reception of critics, the game was at the center of the controversy at home for a rather particular reason. The actor who was supposed to play one of the title's main antagonists, Pierre Taki, was arrested just after the title was released for drug possession. This crime in Japan is considered very serious and Sega has withdrawn the game from the shops to run for cover replaced the actor's face on the covers and within the game with another one. An extreme move by the publisher but given how these crimes are received in Japan we can understand.
