Intel: Rocket Lake towers over AMD's Ryzen 5900X on Cyberpunk 2077

Intel: Rocket Lake towers over AMD's Ryzen 5900X on Cyberpunk 2077

Intel recently announced the imminent release of its new processor Rocket Lake S al CES 2021 in Las Vegas, this year held entirely in streaming. Intel thus introduces the PCIe 4.0 support, which allows direct access to the SSD and GPU. This technology is being integrated into an Intel processor for the first time, which is a major revolution compared to the interactions it had Skylake, its predecessor. During the event, Intel showed off its new XNUMXth generation Core desktop CPU, not showing any official launch date yet.

Il Core i9-11900K, also called Rocket Lake S, is capable of beating the 5900X from AMD thanks to 50% additional cores compared to the rival. Intel's future CPU, in comparison to AMD's 5900-core Ryzen 12X processor, appears to be able to actually win by a small margin. The use made of it while gaming depended on the clock frequency as regards the performance, and this latest Intel product can reach a clock of 5.3 GHz. To show this, different titles have been used, presented at a resolution generic 1080p. It could be noted how the performance with Total War: Three Kingdoms e Assassin's Creed Valhalla, respectively go from 8% to 2% more than AMD, and 7% more with Hitman 3, compared to the Skylake predecessor.

Among the various titles shown by Intel there was also the demo of cyberpunk 2077. The game, which was supposedly running at its maximum settings, was presented on a platform with an integrated Rocket Lake processor, in comparison with a NVIDIA RTX 3080. Without data in hand on the actual performance, it is equally possible to say that visually the game was quite fluid, thanks also to the PCIe 4.0 technology. In this, Rocket Lake S was 4,4% faster than the Ryzen 5900X.

We just have to wait for the launch on the market of the new processor, remembering that the eleventh generation Intel CPU does not yet have an official launch date, although it is planned for March of this 2021.
