Insurgency: Sandstorm, the release on PS4 and Xbox One has been postponed

In the past few hours the publisher Focus Home Interactive and the team of New World Interactive have communicated that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the tactical first-person shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm were postponed to a later date. Initially the project was supposed to debut on consoles on 25 August 2020. We report in detail what was communicated by Keith Warner, CEO and Derek Czerkaski, Head of Production of New World Interactive:

Today, we have important information to share with our community regarding the status of upcoming releases of Insurgency: Sandstorm for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While the development of the console versions is on track, we wanted to inform you that we will not be able to make these editions available on August 25, 2020.

We know this is very sad and frustrating news for everyone who has been waiting for the console release, and we know you have been waiting for news from us for a long time. We aim to leverage this additional time to enhance the gaming experience by enabling us to offer users a more complete and optimized version of Insurgency: Sandstorm.

We will keep our community updated as we get new information. A new release date will be communicated through our social profiles and our newsletter. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this uncertain time and hope our fans and players around the world are well and safe.
