    id Software: Tim Willits leaves after 24 years with the development house

    After 24 years of service for Id Software, producer of titles such as Rage and Quake, the charismatic director Tim Willits announced that he would leave the studio after QuakeCon ends. Announcing the fact on twitter, Willits expressed his respect for the company by underlining the validity of the titles that were proposed during this long period of time.


    I've been extremely lucky to work with the best people in the industry on really great games. QuakeCon was an unforgettable part of my trip and I can't wait to see everyone at the Texan Gaylord.


    These are the words reported on the private Twitter profile of the director of id Software, the company of ZeniMax Media.

    All games currently in development are in good hands.

    My departure will not affect planned releases.

    id Software is full of fantastic talent who will continue to develop (long into the future) some of the best shooters in the world.
