How to unlock extra costumes and characters

The rules of Resident Evil 6's Mercenaries mode are quite simple: try to stay alive by always keeping an eye on the clock that runs inexorably. If by playing you achieve particular objectives, you will also unlock bonus characters and costumes.

Here are what they are and what you need to do to get them:

 

Mercenary mode unlockable characters

How to unlock Leon: default, already unlocked.
How to unlock Jake: default, already unlocked.
How to unlock Chris: default, already unlocked.
How to unlock ADA: Complete Ada's story campaign.
How to unlock Carla Rademes: unlock all other characters' costumes
How to unlock Birkin: Complete the Depths map with Rank B or higher with any character.
How to unlock Pier Nivans: Complete the Steel Beast map with Rank B or higher with any character.
How to unlock Helena: Complete the Urban Chaos map with Rank B or higher with any character.
How to Unlock BSAA Soldier: unlock all other characters and their costumes

 

Unlockable Costumes Mercenaries mode - Leon Kennedy

    First Set - default, already unlocked.
    Pirate - Complete any stage with Leon of Rank A or higher to unlock this costume.
    Retro - obtained via DLC (downloadable content).

Beachwear Unlockables - Helena Harper
    Hot Cop - Complete any Stage with a Rank A or higher playing as Helena.
    Retro - obtained via DLC (downloadable content).

Beachwear Unlockables - Chris Redfield
    Samurai - Complete any Stage with a Rank A or higher playing as Chris.
    Retro - obtained via DLC (downloadable content).

Beachwear Unlockables - Piers Nivans
    Racing Outfit - Complete any Stage with a Rank A or higher playing as Piers.

Beachwear Unlockables - Jake Muller
    Gangster - Complete any Stage with a Rank A or higher playing as Jake.
    Retro - obtained via DLC (downloadable content).

Beachwear Unlockables - Sherry Birkin
    Schoolgirl - Complete any Stage with a Rank A or higher playing as Sherry.
    Retro - obtained via DLC (downloadable content).

Beachwear Unlockables - Ada Wong
    Dead Aim Outfit - Complete any Stage with a Rank A or higher playing as Ada.
    Retro - obtained via DLC (downloadable content).
