How to rescue petrified characters

In Dark Souls 2 it will happen on more than one occasion to have the opportunity to help petrified characters or to have to remove this curse even from yourself. To remove the petrifaction you will need the Fragrant Branch of Yore (Branch of Yore), an object found in different places in the game.

In this guide we see the different points where you can find the Fragrant Branch of Yore and the characters on which you can use it to get rare items and important pieces of equipment in exchange.

Where to find the Branch of Yore:

• Shaded Woods #1: Remove the petrifaction of the tribal blocking the door in the ruins, near the path leading to the Scorpioness boss Najka, to get another Branch of Yore and the Lion Mage armor.

• Shaded Woods #2: Talk to Manscorpion Tark with the Ring of Whispers equipped after defeating Scorpioness Najka.

• The Gutter #1: this you will find after reaching the first bonfire in the Black Gorge.

• The Black Gulch #1: found in a treasure chest after two Giants. Drop the platforms near the secret room with the bonfire and enter the treasure room at the back of the cave.

• Brightstone Cove Tseldora #1: Found in the library after defeating Duke's Dear Freja boss.

• Iron Keep #1: Available for purchase at the Magerold of Lanafir store for 7500 souls.

• Sinner’s Rise #1: Found in a chest after defeating the Lost Sinner boss.

• Harvest Valley #1: Before reaching the bonfire of the Mines, look in a cave on the right after exiting the first poisonous valley.

Now let's see too on which characters the Fragrant Branch of Yore can be used to remove petrification. In one case you will need it to continue in the story, in others to unlock a trophy / achievement or simply to get valuable items as a reward.

• Majula (Rosabeth of Melfia - Obligation): freeing Rosabeth will unlock the passage to continue further and you can also unlock the "Change of clothes" achievement (see the trophy guide for more details).
