Microsoft Office per Chromebook: Office Online

If your Chromebook only has access to the Chrome Web Store, unfortunately you can't download the various Office apps, but that doesn't mean you're out of luck. You can use Office Online. With the online version of Office, you will be able to work, edit and share Office files right in your browser. You must be connected to the internet to use Microsoft Office on your Chromebook, which may not be ideal, but it does mean you have a Drive alternative. Usa Office online.

These are the only ways to install and run Microsoft Office on Chromebooks; online if you do not have the Google Play Store or as we said through the Google Play Store. You won't have access to all the features you might have on a Windows PC or Mac, but your Chromebook wasn't built to be the same as either of those.

However, this gives you the ability to work on the same Office files on different devices, which can help you avoid converting files from Drive. The Chromebook may be clearly linked to the Google ecosystem, but that doesn't mean you have to give up all your working comforts and bow to the Google gods. You can still use your favorite apps.
