The Samsung Galaxy Note9 is one of the high-end premium models released last year that has become popular with consumers due to its excellent features. It has a solid structure made of aluminum with Gorilla Glass on both the front and the back. While this is a solid performing device, there are instances where certain issues can occur which we will address today. Solution: Before performing any troubleshooting steps on this phone it is best to make sure it is running the latest software version. If there is an update available, download and install it right away.

There are several conditions that must be met in order for the phone to successfully charge using the wireless charger.

  • When using the wireless charger, do not place foreign materials, such as metal objects, magnets and magnetic stripe cards, between the device and the wireless charger.
  • Do not insert cards such as RFID card, credit card, door lock card between the device and the back cover. The device may not charge properly or it may overheat and cause damage.
  • If you use the wireless charger in areas with weak network signals, you may lose network reception.
  • Be careful not to leave foreign objects such as metal objects, magnets and magnetic stripe cards in the charger connector. It may cause overheating due to corrosion or temporary short circuit of the power supply terminal.
  • If you charge the device while the multi-function jack is wet, the device may be damaged. Completely dry the multifunction jack before charging the device.
  • Use only Samsung-approved chargers, batteries, and cables. Charging-related products directly affect user safety, so be careful when selecting the product.

You will also need to eliminate the possibility that the problem is caused by the wireless charger itself by using a different wireless charger with a different charging cable and a wall charger. If the problem persists, proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Press the Volume Down key several times to highlight 'wipe cache partition'.
  • Press the power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight 'yes' and press the Power key to select.
  • Once the cache cleaning is complete, click on “Reboot system now”.
  • Press the power key to restart the device.

Check if the problem still occurs.



Perform a factory reset

One last step to fix Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Wireless Charging Not Working is a factory reset. This will restore the phone to its original factory condition. Make sure to backup your phone data before performing this step.

  • Make sure your phone is turned off.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.

  • Press the power key to restart the device.

In case the problem still occurs after following the steps listed above, this could be caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the battery. The best thing to do right now is to take your phone to a service center and have it checked.
