Some time ago, Netflix updated its app on the Play Store by preventing root users from installing the app. Fortunately, as always happens in the wonderful Android world, there is the possibility to continue downloading and using your favorite application and watching your favorite shows on your smartphone. "I can't download Netflix from the Play Store"
Since May 15, 2017, Netflix has updated its application on the Play Store. As a result, many people who have rooted or unlocked their smartphone bootloader cannot download the application to their smartphone. They see the following message when they visit the app page: “Your device is not compatible with this version”.
The reason is simple. Netflix now uses Google's new Widevine DRM system which is incompatible with rooted phones or even an unlocked bootloader. As a reminder, root allows Android users to have full administrator rights to access all smartphone files and permissions.
With this new system, Netflix wants to fight against possible hacking because with the root it is possible to access media files stored locally, and therefore to movies and TV series.
How to download and use Netflix from the Play Store?
If you have already installed the application, you have no problems using the service. If you don't have the application, you need to resort to the good old APK file method. Or you can decide to remove the root from your smartphone.

Proceed as for installing an external application:
- Enable installation of applications from unknown sources (available in "Settings> Security> Unknown sources")
- Find the Play Store APK in the Download application or download it from above.
- Open the file and install the new version of Netflix!
