Horizon Zero Dawn - Override guide and where to find all the Cauldrons

In Horizon Zero Dawn, the open word game developed by Guerrilla Games, you will have the ability to take control of the machines by means of a technique called Override. In this way you will be able to govern them to your advantage, but be careful not to attack the machine on which you have performed the Override, since doing so will automatically backfire.

Each machine has its own specialty therefore you will have to unlock the different types of Override to dominate them all and in this guide we will give you the indications to be able to do it. Initially this function will not be possible to apply it on all types of machines, but only on the simplest ones. The higher ones can be checked by completing i Calderoni, which in turn mark 5 corresponding levels named Phi, Sigma, rho, Xi, Zeta.

Horizon Zero Dawn - Override guide and where to find all the Cauldrons

The Cauldrons are areas scattered around the map and are nothing more than underground bunkers where machines are created. These dungeons will only be revealed on the game map when you pass near them or through the Override of the Gods Collilunghi. Now let's see how to find the five Cauldrons and what are the machines that you can control in Horizon Zero Dawn.

The following text may contain spoilers about Horizon Zero Dawn, the latest work developed by the guys at Guerrilla Games. We therefore advise you to continue carefully in order to avoid any major and minor spoilers, which could undermine your play experience.

Phi cauldron

This Cauldron is unlocked in the first hours of the game through the main story and will allow you to Override the simple machines, namely the Collilunghi, the Vedette, the Corsieri, the Cornalunghe and the Ferrarieti. You will not have to carry out any particular actions but it will be enough to complete the “Belly of the Mountain” quest in the early stages of the game.

Sigma cauldron

Talk to a girl named Dral to activate the mission related to this Cauldron. Go north of the Mother's Heart and eliminate the Lookouts that protect the area, solve the puzzles and you will arrive at the core. At this point you will have to override the core and by doing so you will unlock the Sigma Cauldron and you can control the Secodons, the Scavengers, the Horns and the Cervaviti.

Cauldron Rho

This dungeon is located more or less in the center of the map, slightly south of a mountain and you will find out its exact location as soon as you override a nearby Long Hill. Eliminate the Lookouts, who are a bit more numerous in this area, and head to the core by solving the game's puzzles. The main one is based on a spinning wheel, so you will have to shoot the arrows towards the wheel that will stop and reverse the direction of rotation. Kill the enemy guards and override the core to get the Cauldron. In this bunker, you will unlock access to Longipeds, Celermors, Reapers, Arcapods and Kerataurs.

Cauldron XI

Head east of the map, south of the Sundial in the middle of the dense forest. Obviously, there will also be enemies guarding the Cauldron here. Override the core and use this technique to control some machines and temporarily make allies. You will now have unlocked the Emery, Incendiary Mantle, Freezing Mantis, Pursuer and Colossus.

Cauldron Zeta

The last game Cauldron is located in the northwestern area of the map and features a shorter, less guarded dungeon. The secret entrance is located at the top left in front of the dam guarded by a lookout. Reach the side entrance and venture to the core. This will obviously be the most difficult path, but on the other hand it will allow you to complete the set of machines by adding to the list the Thunderstorms, the Stormcers and the Rockbreakers.
