Hitman 3 - Guide on how to find the killer in Dartmoor

After publishing the complete guide to Dartmoor missions and activities and after having deepened in detail all challenges offered by this splendid location in Hitman 3, here we are to deepen the mission "Means, motive and occasion”To be able to find the killer. Hitman 3, developed by IO Interactive, was recently released for PC and consoles and we - of course - didn't miss the opportunity to review it.

Before leaving you to guide, we remind you that in the following text you could read some major or minor spoilers related to Hitman 3, regarding various playful sections and different details on the story created by IO Interactive. We therefore advise you to proceed with caution before completing the game's campaign in its entirety.

To start the mission follow the private investigator: to do this you will have to climb over the wall on the right side and follow the man inside the manor. Use the bushes to hide and then climb through the window located on the right side of the main entrance. Disguise yourself as a private investigator: get the disguise by stunning the man as soon as he stops in the middle of the corridor, so hide his body by locking it in a closet at the end of the corridor. Be sure to close the side doors to the corridor leading to other rooms to avoid being seen by anyone as you drag the poor detective's body. You will now be ready to meet Alexa Carlisle in the Fayer. So follow the Mr. Fernsby, the butler, who will guide you upstairs to Zachary's (the victim) room.

Investigate inside the Zachary's bedroom equipping the camera to take pictures of the corpse in the bed, the glasses on the bedside table (located to the right of the bed) and then ask the butler for more information. After the investigation in the room go back to Fernsby (you should find him in the hall, downstairs). Interrogate suspects and search for places of interest. There are five suspects for questioning: Gregory Carlisle, Edward Carlisle, Rebecca Carlisle, Emma Carlisle, Patrick Carlisle.

To find all the people just mentioned, just go around all the rooms located on the ground floor of the villa. People who can be questioned are marked with a green icon above their heads (family members). Patrick is in the library, Gregory is waiting for you in the living room, Edward is in the dining room. Rebecca walks incessantly between the trophy room and the living room. Emma is the hardest person to find among all of these, because sometimes she will be in the living room (where you can also talk to Gregory), other times it will be necessary to wait for her right next to Gregory; it will pop up from who knows where, but don't make a problem with it and take the opportunity to question it.

The places of interest linked to the completion of the mission are tracked in the appropriate tab in the game menu. Room names will be automatically added to the map once they are discovered. An easy way to enter locked rooms is to use the crowbar to force the lock. Also remember that the clues to look for using the camera are indicated on the map with a camera icon (indeed!).

After completing the dialogues with all the suspects and after studying all the clues report to Mr. Fernsby. Go back to the butler in the foyer and talk to him to let him know your investigation is over. Now follow the butler who will lead you to Alexa upstairs. Do not fear the guards: while you are escorted by the butler you will have no problems. The mission "Means, motive and opportunity" will be completed. Sit in front of Alexa to communicate your results to her. You will have three different dialogue options to choose from:

  • Accuse Emma (she's the real killer)
  • Accuse Mr. Fernsby
  • Accuse Zachary

Once this is done, you can ask for a reward. After opening the safe, take the case file and wait for Alexa to come out on the balcony. Walk behind her and push her over the railing to take her out. Alternatively, click the switch on the arm of his chair. This will reveal the presence of a safe behind a painting (within the same room). The combination to open the safe is 1975. Then leave the area to finish the mission "Means, motive and opportunity" of the location of Dartmoor from Hitman 3.
