Hideo Kojima over the course of his long career he has often been associated with the brand PlayStation, or at least since 1998 on the first PlayStation the first historian was published Metal Gear Solid. When the famous author broke ties with Konami, later creating the studio Kojima Productions, his first move was to sign up for Sony giving life to the project Death Stranding, a title that after just under four years of development was first published on PlayStation 4 and then on PC. Despite these premises it seems that, according to recent rumors, there could be an important change for the next game by Hideo Kojima.
In fact, according to rumors, Xbox and Hideo Kojima would be close to signing a deal for the studio's next game. If that were to happen it would be a somewhat surprising turnaround and many are already speculating why Kojima and Sony would no longer be collaborating. Apparently, Microsoft it wouldn't be her first choice of Kojima.
In the recent episode of the Xbox Era podcast, insider Shpeshal_Ed stated that Kojima Productions would originally be turning to Sony to produce their next game. Sony, however, seems not to be satisfied with the commercial performance of Death Stranding and, as a result, would have refused to produce Kojima's new work.
The insider also suggests that Kojima may have been in talks with Google to produce his new game exclusively on Stadia, given that there are rumors that this title would make a lot of use of cloud technology, but in the end the study would have veered towards Microsoft. The Microsoft-Kojima agreement would be close to completion and, according to these rumors, news could arrive in the next few days.
In any case, news about this new title should still arrive, given that the art director of Kojima Productions, Yoji Shinkawa, recently stated that the studio's next game would be announced in the near future.
