Find out how hide apps on your android device to protect your content from prying eyes. As smartphones have crept into our lives as an essential element, the users are storing more and more sensitive data about them. Banking information, passwords, photographs or personal videos very often in the form of an app that we never want to be opened or viewed by others.

There are times when we want to keep some things private on our Android phone. This assumes there are files we want to hide, but this it's something that also extends to applications. It is likely that some applications are very visible, so let's look for a way to hide them.

In Android we can hide apps, even if we have to resort to third-party applications, because the operating system does not have a function that makes it possible natively. Fortunately, there are launchers that make it possible to hide Android apps. Also, some levels of customization have this option.

How to hide an app on Samsung One UI

The current level of customization for Samsung phones has a feature that allows you to hide Android applications on the phone. This feature only allows phone owners to access or use these applications.

As well as allowing you to hide the ones you don't want other people to see on the phone, as we already told you about this feature. The way to hide apps in One UI is as follows:

  • Press and hold on a desktop to view configuration options.
  • Go su «Screen settings Home «, the icon located at the bottom right.
  • Scroll down to "Hide applications".
  • Add the apps you want to hide and your mobile will no longer show them among the visible apps.

This method allows you to hide these applications ad other people. Although the user can access them if he wishes, since he only has to search for them to be able to see them on the phone. But if someone enters the device, he will not see them because they are hidden.

Hide apps using Android launchers

The other main option we can use for hiding apps on android is using a launcher. The launchers that we can install on a phone usually have this option to hide applications, so in general it will be possible to do this with them. We show you how to hide Android apps with some of the most popular launchers we can use on an Android phone.

How to hide Android applications with Nova Launcher

Nova Launcher is one of the most popular launchers on Android and, of course, it has the ability to hide applications. This feature is very easy to use, it can be configured directly in your phone's app drawer by following these steps. It must be said that this feature is only available in the paid version.

  • Long press on the application you want to hide.
  • Click on the edit option.
  • Uncheck the apps tab.
  • Click Finish.

The application is hidden this way, it is not more visible in the app drawer on the phone. Although it is still installed and we can use it normally as before, only at first glance it is as if it is not on the device, which is exactly what we were looking for.

We can also access it from the Nova Launcher settings, entering the Application Drawer section and there we have the ability to hide applications. We can see which ones are blocked, as well as mark the new ones so that they are hidden on the phone. So it's another method to use.

Action Launcher

Another of the best known launchers we have on Android, which also includes the feature to hide applications on the phone. Again the operation is quite simple, in reality we have to do what we did with Nova Launcher. So it doesn't have too many complications:

  • Long press on the application to hide it.
  • Click on the edit option.
  • Click on the three vertical dots (menu option).
  • Uncheck the Show in app drawer option.

Again, the application stops appearing in the app drawer phone, but it is still installed and functioning normally as before. Only at first glance we will not be able to see it, nor will other people who have access to the phone be able to see it.

Another app hide android apps, Evie Launcher

Evie Launcher has created a gap between Android users, thanks to the fact that it is very light, but it offers us many functions. One of the functions present is to hide applications. It is not complicated to use this feature, so if you use this launcher, you can use it whenever you see fit:

  • Long press an empty spot on the main screen.
  • Enter the Evie Launcher settings.
  • Go to the Hide Applications option.
  • Select the apps you want to hide.

When I finish, none of the apps will appear in the drawer anymore app. If at some point you change your mind, you can make them reappear on your phone, following the same steps as before.
