Hercules: Live-action won't be like animated film

Hercules: Live-action won't be like animated film

As we learned about a couple of weeks ago, Disney has chosen a new animated film to be re-proposed through the formula of live action. After the countless films such as Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast, and many others, even the beloved Hercules it will have its own adaptation in the future. The film as we know will be produced by the brothers Russian who so much hoped to be able to work on one of the most beloved characters of their childhood.

However, as they rightly pointed out, the film will not be a literal adaptation of the most famous animated film, but will propose something completely new. These are their words about the project they released to a newspaper:

I think we need to put something new on the table. As a storyteller we can say that from our point of view we are not very convinced by the idea of doing a makeover to the letter. We did the same thing when we had to make the Marvel movies as we believe that if you want that story you can go directly to read it in the comics. We want to offer something new. We will do something that will be in the strings of the original material, but enriched with new elements.

At the moment we don't know anything yet regarding the cast. Some rumors talking about Tom Hiddleston or Benedict Cumberbatch as the protagonist and Arianda Grande who would play Megara. All that remains is to wait and find out what the future of the new Hercules movie will be.
