Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Woods doesn't like Gunn's return to directing

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Woods doesn't like Gunn's return to directing

As we had already reported a couple of days ago, Disney has decided to entrust the direction of Guardians of Gallasia Vol. 3 a James Gunn, already author of the first two chapters of the film saga. The news was received very positively by both critics and fans of the series, however not everyone seems to be satisfied with the choice made by the American company.

The well-known actor James Woods, already known for being the promoter of an initiative that intended to boycott the Captain Marvel movie, shared a sarcastic post on Twitter in which he deliberately teased the decision of the American animation giant, arguing that the case of Gunn's rehiring is, in fact, a contradiction when compared with that of the actress Roseanne Barr.

Oh, and is @therealroseanne back on Roseanne, too? Oh, wait… https://t.co/ujRt9Q3Chf

What Woods is referring to is linked to the fact that last summer Disney had dismissed the well-known director due to some tweets dated between 2008 and 2011, in which Gunn himself had expressed himself using a decidedly little appreciable type of humor. . Just recently, however, the re-employment of Gunn was made official, as if to forget, or at least to dismiss, the scandal that happened not even twelve months ago.

A similar fate, but with a different conclusion, was instead the turn of Roseanne Barr, the protagonist of the television series Pappa and Ciccia - broadcast, among other things, by a Disney broadcaster - which was canceled due to an offensive racist post published by the actress on Twitter. The show was subsequently resumed through a spin-off, a program in which, however, the woman did not even have a marginal role, meaning that the doors of the American company for Barr will remain permanently closed.

A behavior that shows a certain and unfair partiality, therefore, as ironically underlined by James Woods, who does not seem to appreciate Gunn's return to directing the third chapter of Guardians of the Galaxy.
