The eighth chapter of the well-known franchise signed Rockstar, or GTA 6, currently under development, will certainly have undergone a strong acceleration in its manufacturing process, especially after the publication of Red Dead Redemption 2 which has now taken place towards the end of last year. The company is therefore undoubtedly focused to the maximum on the new title of the main series, even if, however, some small ones delay on the schedule related to the release of the game may also occur along the way.
According to some sources, in fact, since the component multiplayer of GTA 5 is continuing to be very popular with the public, the company would still be willing to dedicate some further updates to the chapter released in 2013.
It has been 5 years and 9 months since GTA V release, GTAO still receive updates.
It doesn't look like R * is planning to stop, we could see more after the next DLC.

As in fact the famous explains Tex2 dataminer through a post published on his Twitter profile, “It's been 5 years and 9 months since the release of GTA V, and Grand Theft Auto Online is still receiving the various updates. It would therefore seem that Rockstar has no intention of quitting, and we may know more [about GTA 6] only after the release of the next DLC ”.
This DLC it will probably consist of a nice and substantial patch aimed at introducing the Casino right in GTA Online, and it will be released - presumably - no earlier than a few months. The same Rockstar, however, if you remember well had previously announced that the support for this multiplayer functionality would actually have to end by 2016. Yet, here we are again: the enormous success that the title has achieved worldwide, has led it to be more long-lived expected.
This, of course, could seriously result in an actual delay in the release of GTA 6, a publication that on balance (and speculation) facts could open a launch window expected no earlier than 2021, and therefore subsequent to the arrival of the new generation consoles - as also seems to be confirmed by a former Rockstar developer with a post on Pastebin.
