Great Western Trail: second edition announced, plus a trilogy

If you are among those who have been desperately looking for a copy of Great Western Trail (sold out for some time in all e-commerce), coming across only crazy prices for a used box, we have great news for you. Eggertspiele in fact it has finally announced a second edition of Alexander Pfister's masterpiece, with graphics completely redesigned by the artist Chris Quilliams and inspired by Sergio Leone's western cinema. It is not yet known if the game's contents will undergo any changes (we hope that the various promos released so far will be included, some of which are now difficult to find), but it is instead official that the title will also have two sequels and will compose a new trilogy. In fact, this new edition (scheduled for summer 2021) will follow "Great Western Trail Argentina" in the 2022, e "Great Western Trail New Zealand" in 2023. Subsequently, the second edition of the expansion will also be released "Rails to the North".

Great Western Trail: second edition announced, plus a trilogy

Great Western Trail is a game that can be played by two to four players and has an estimated duration of about one hundred and fifty minutes. This "carefree" boardgame is set in America in the nineteenth century, in which you play as a rancher who often raises his cattle, from Texas to Kansas City, traveling by train. Doing so will allow you to earn money and Victory Points. Clearly it's not all that easy, and during the game the various choices made by the player will be fundamental, and acting wisely can mean the difference between victory and defeat. It goes without saying that the player who gets it will be the one who has accumulated the most victory points.

The game has been able over time, from 2016 to 2018, to win several honors in its field, as well as a large list of nominations.

Obviously we will keep you informed about all the updates on the release date of the new version and on the aforementioned trilogy.
