    Godfall: here's how the indie studio made a triple A for PS5

    In a new interesting interview with VentureBeat, the developer of Godfall Counterplay Games revealed how the studio itself ended up making a triple A launch game coming to PlayStation 5, better known as Godfall, upcoming title coming from next 12st November. The co-founder of Counterplay, Keith Lee, is no stranger to video games: the man in fact previously worked for Blizzard Entertainment e Insomniac Games, participating in projects that are not a little famous like Diablo II, Resistance: Fall of Man and the original Ratchet & Clank released many years ago.



    However, in early 2008, Lee left everything to devote himself to creating a mobile development studio from which he left in 2011. Later, in 2014, he co-founded Counterplay Games and the studio's first game was a game. of free-to-play digital trading cards, Duelyst. The man told VentureBeat he met with executives from Sony only atE3 which was held last year and was able to woo the company with a prototype of Godfall. Later the developer himself had "the good fortune" to meet Gearbox:

    When we were working on it last summer, we thought of showing Godfall to the public. I had it on my laptop at GDC last year and also at E3 last summer. That was when we met with Sony. I was able to show Godfall to John Drake, before he left, and to a bunch of other people. It has impressed many people, who share some of the aspects of what they would like for the next generation.



    Time-wise, we were also lucky enough to meet Gearbox. Of course, they had a lot of experience creating action RPGs with Borderlands. They also knew the Sony guys. The three of us got in touch and struck a deal where Sony could support us and ensure that we would be a PlayStation 5 launch title. Much was the timing and ability to fill a potential gap that all parties wanted to fill in. the next generation.
