The twelfth and final episode of the series ended with a message saying: "Goblin Slayer will be back".



    The sequel to the first season, titled The Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown, was launched in Japan on February 1, 2020. Yen Press has licensed both Kumo Kagyu's Goblin Slayer novels and the manga adaptation of Kōsuke Kurose. SB Creative released the first volume of Kumo Kagyu's eponymous dark fantasy novel series in February 2016, and Kōsuke Kurose launched an ongoing manga adaptation on Big gangan in May 2016.

    The official synopsis of the series reads:

    A young cleric joins a group of still inexperienced adventurers intent on exterminating a group of goblins, creatures that live in caves and considered among the weakest. Precisely because of their inexperience they are defeated. The end that awaits them is horrifying, but fortunately they are saved by a Goblin Slayer, a person in armor who specializes in killing goblins and belonging to one of the highest ranks of adventurers who shows no mercy towards the enemy. The girl will decide to join him, even knowing that in this journey she will be forced to see again macabre scenes like the ones she has just experienced.
