Ghostbusters Afterlife: Ivan Reitman cried for joy at seeing it

Ghostbusters Afterlife: Ivan Reitman cried for joy at seeing it

Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the highly anticipated sequel set in the same universe as the first two original films, is one of those films that fans and not only look forward to. The return to the scene of the most famous Ghostbusters in history (played once again by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, definitely older), and the control room left by the good Ivan Reitman to his son Jason Reitman, it is one of those events that rarely happen and that above all carry a very heavy weight on their shoulders. The film should arrive this summer on all the big screens about thirty years after Ghostbusters 2. Obviously the cinema situation, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is still very uncertain and everything could change at any moment.

Just the new director of the film, Jason Reitman, most of all he felt the weight of the responsibilities that millions of fans demanded, but one in particular, his father Ivan, praised the work he had done, also dedicating a beautiful thought to him. Reitman father, was in fact able to watch the film in the studios Sony and said he was moved, happy, and proud to be Jason's father:

At the beginning of December it was possible to screen the film for him. My dad didn't leave home much because of Covid. But he did a test, put on a mask, and went to the Sony parking lot to watch the film with the studio. And after that, he cried and said, "I'm so proud to be your father." And it was one of the best moments of my life.

The first trailer of the film, released almost a year ago, can be found at the following link. These are the words of the director on the main differences with the first two films:

The original Ghostbusters movies are mostly humorous, while Afterlife will be scarier. The feeling I've been holding on to is that, while it's a lot of fun, it really scared me. It was really my first experience with a horror movie.
