Gears of War 2: A Teaser Image Hints the Arrival of a Remastered [UPDATED]

The account Twitter official of the saga of Gears of War just a few minutes ago published one new teaser image, which immediately prompted fans to hope forarrival of a remastered version of Epic Games' Gears of War 2. Much more likely, however, the image should be associated with the new contents of Operation 6 of Gears 5 6 season of the game. However, the teaser recalls what has already been done with the Ultimate Edition of the first Gears of War, which had updated and modernized the title, also bringing it up PC.

The picture shows the hand of an unidentified character holding some COG tags. The tweet does not provide any description, a lack that has ignited the various fan theories even more. These have in fact immediately noticed a similarity of the image with the cover of the old title for Xbox 360, which portrayed the protagonist Marcus Fenix while holding COG tags in his hands. The images, however, are different in style, although the pose strongly recalls them, making the birth of speculations about a possible return of the second chapter of the saga inevitable. According to some insiders, The Coalition would have big plans for the future of Gears and in addition to Gears 6 there would also be other titles in development for the next few years. However, it should be noted that the sources speak mainly of spin-offs, and there is no official statement that suggests the arrival of a remastered of the second chapter. Rather, the comments of the same software house under the post immediately dampened any enthusiasm.

However, fans are clamoring for the return of the first chapters in a modernized guise for a long time, and dreaming costs nothing: in 2018 a trailer of Gears of War 2 Definitive Edition, later removed without explanation. Not only that, before the next one arrives Gears 6, The Coalition is putting some content from the old chapters into Gears 5, and since Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3 aren't out on PC yet, the news of their possible return would not be so unlikely.

Update: A subsequent Gears of War Twitter post denied the news, showing the full image announcing Gears 6 season 5.
