[Gamescom 2018] Devil's Hunt - Tested the new Layopi Games title

During our stay at the most important European fair ever we got to take a preview look at the new Layopi Games title: Devil's Hunt. During our appointment, the developer showed us a Pre-Alpha of the title explaining the basics that will accompany Devil's Hunt at the official release. The game is a third-person action that remakes and at the same time competes with titles like God of War, or at least that's the intention: the setting is very similar to the latter, and during our adventure we will find details that will bring us back to the good times we had with the first chapters of the Santa Monica Studio series. As mentioned above, the demo shown to us during the presentation is still in the early stages of development (says the developer) and it will take some time before the final build is really ready: bugs, glich, camera to be fixed and a “static” character, are just some of the problems that Devil's Hunt carries on his shoulders.

Let's find out more about this title

The title does not present itself as an open world, but rather as a linear action game that gives the player the opportunity to freely explore the vast spaces available: we must admit, the game map (at least the one we could see) is really very detailed and well built and makes us appreciate the commitment and dedication that the developers have for this title. One of the features that struck us most is definitely the action-packed and dynamic combat that Devil's Hunt offers: the protagonist has the ability to transform his arms into powerful blades / sharp claws that will be lethal against the frequent enemies that will attack us during our journey. In our adventure, they explain, it will be possible to customize and improve the character, thus preparing him for the most difficult challenges such as boss fight and mini boss fight. There were only four skills available, but the developers have assured us that when the build is over there will be many more and all customizable according to our style of play. The cutscenes of the title are particularly accurate and detailed and have nothing to envy to the most prestigious titles available on the market today.Although there have been some technical and graphic defects due to the pre-alpha of the game, Devil's Hunt has been appreciated and enjoyed us like never before. The guys at Layopi Games are doing an exceptional job and we are sure that once the development is finished the title will have the deserved success! We remind you that Devil's Hunt will be available in 2019 on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms and will be released in both physical and digital versions. What do you think about it?
