During the course of the Gamescom 2018 in Cologne we had the opportunity to preview one of the most successful works in the world of graphic adventures, Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse. During our visit we met and chatted with the founder of Revolution Software, Charles Cecil: the latter has been a lover and passionate of the franchise for almost always and has told us how the love for this title has also affected a lot in his private life. After entertaining us with some anecdotes about the series, Charles Cecil displaces us by revealing that the 6th chapter of the Revolution Software series is already in development: the title is still in the early stages and at the moment the developers are hard at work on the story that we will address in the next chapter of the series. He also revealed to us that, in all likelihood, the next setting for the game will be Germany, a country particularly loved and appreciated by the software house.

After the long chat, he gave us some Nintendo Switches to try and judge the work done with the Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse port: the title in portable mode has its own charm and you will be hooked at first glance from the excellent work done. In the demo shown to us, our goal was to collect as much information as possible about the crime that took place in the place where we were present at that time: analyzing the body, looking for clues or little visible traces will be one of the many things that we will be able to discover in this graphic adventure . On the Nintendo home console we will have the possibility to control our character both with the analogue of the joycons, and with the touch screen: unfortunately we have to admit that in both cases the two solutions were inconvenient because the first does not fit perfectly with the idea of "point and click", while the second is imprecise and very poorly calibrated. In some cases we happened to click an option other than the desired one or it was really complicated to click on the right object in the setting.

Shortly before concluding the presentation of the title on Switch, Charles Cecil stated that this version will contain some exclusive features to celebrate the release on the Nintendo home console. One of the special features that this latest version will boast are the unlockable documentary videos as we continue the adventure: the latter are exactly 10 and will show us the "behind the scenes" of the title and the evolution of development on Nintendo Switch. Despite some technical defects, which we hope will be solved before the official release, we are thrilled to have tried the latest effort from Revolution Software and we consider the title and the series in general a milestone in the world of point & click! We remind you that Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse will be released on Nintendo Switch starting next September 21st

What do you think about it? Have you played the previous chapters of this magnificent saga? Would you be interested in trying the first four episodes on Nintendo Switch as well? Keep following us to not miss any news regarding the world of video games and more!
