Game of Thrones: the spin-off signed by Bryan Cogman has been permanently canceled

Bryan Cogman, author and executive producer of the beloved series Game of Thrones, he recently confessed, to the microphones of Variety, the definitive cancellation of the spin-off he was working on with George RR Martin. Thought as a prequel of the Throne of Swords, and until now remained a secret project and of which no information has ever been released, the show should have been set in a different era than the events of The Long Night - whose launch is currently scheduled for 2020.

However, everything seems to have officially and definitively ended with a dry stalemate; in fact, as Cogman explains to the interviewer, “my prequel won't be made anymore. HBO has decided to continue in a different way, so from today I will be able to work with Amazon in the making of new series. This is goodbye, as I said before. With Westeros, it's over now ”.

In fact, to remember, it had already been September 2018 that there were rumors of this mysterious exclusive agreement between the producer and the American e-commerce giant - an issue that had already made fans tremble about the future of the series. Moreover, given his enormous experience in what concerns the fantasy world, some gossip has already raised that plausibly hypothesize the involvement of Cogman even for an important role in the development of the series de The Lord of the Rings, already in the production phase for Amazon.

At the moment, however, these are only suppositions, and to obtain any confirmations or denials regarding the continuation of Cogman's career, we can do nothing but wait for new communications from the official channels.
