Fortnite: the latest patch on PC reduces the size occupied on the hard disk

today epic Games has officially released a new update for Fortnite su PC, to be exact the patch 14.40, which in addition to improving some internal aspects of the most famous battle royale ever, drastically reduces the size, cutting more than 60GB of data that it occupies on the hard disk of your device. In this way the game will be less heavy for the internal memories of your machines, reaching between 27,5 and 29 GB total. This optimization operation also justifies the large amount of data to be downloaded for this new version of the game, which reaches almost thirty gigabytes.

Furthermore, thanks to this new update, the game will guarantee small updates more frequent, but of a much smaller size, allowing players to always have the latest version of the battle royale, without being forced to wait for the new patch to be downloaded in order to play an online game. This move by Epic Games could really be a winning stunt, which could also be implemented by competing companies to reduce the really excessive weight of some games of this genre, such as Call of Duty: Warzone by Activision o Apex Legends by Electronic Arts, really overweight titles that put a lot of players' SSDs to the test on PC.

The latest Fortnite patch also brings the new event dedicated to Halloween, the Revenge of Midas, which according to some leaks will see the return of the pumpkins thrower and will introduce flying brooms as hang gliders to parachute onto the game map at the beginning of the game. For now there have been no official announcements to confirm the arrival of this particular patch also on consoles, or if the version of the battle royale arriving on next generation systems will receive this optimization already by default, but to know it we just have to wait for its release for Xbox Series X on November 10th and for PlayStation 5 on November 19th.
