Firewatch: finally a film adaptation is coming

Firewatch: finally a film adaptation is coming

Four years after the first announcement, A film adaptation of Firewatch is finally on the way. The game, released in 2016, is the debut title of Campo Santo Production. This is a first person adventure game released primarily for Windows e PlayStation 4 (later also released for Xbox One e MacOS). The title, warmly received by critics, was a winner of the per the best debut and the best fiction ai Game Developers Choice Awards 2017. Inside, the story of two fire lookouts is told, connected to each other only through a Walkie Talkie. The aim of the game will be to solve a mystery that surrounds the Shoshone National Forest of Wyoming during the fire season.

Already in 2016 there were rumors that Vanaman e Rodkin (founders of Campo Santo) were in contact with Good Universe to create a feature film. Unfortunately, after the purchase of the entire company by Valve, the project went up in smoke. Today finally we have returned to talk about this title, with a news more than positive. It was in fact officially announced that it will be Snoot Entertainment to take care of the film dedicated to Firewatch. Obviously Jake Rodkin and Sean Vanaman will be among the producers, along with Keith e Jess Calder (film producers collaborating with Snoot Entertainment). The couple immediately defined the title as “an excruciating and wonderful work of art”. Regarding this collaboration, Vanaman stated:

Jess and Keith are hardworking and visionary film producers. From our first conversation I immediately understood that they would be excellent partners of Campo Santo.

We can't wait to find out what the fate of this film will be. Surely the expectations are high and we hope that the film company like Blindspotting (hugely successful title in the US) may exceed expectations. In the meantime, we refer you to our pages which, as usual, we will not fail to constantly update.
