Unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase of September, Final Fantasy XVI it is certainly one of the most talked about and awaited titles in the videogame panorama. With the release scheduled for 2021, Sony e Square Enix are trying to keep the focus on the game by revealing more and more details about the open-world action RPG. And, in the last few hours, interesting new information has been revealed regarding the world where the title is set and ai characters with whom we will collaborate during the adventure. To reveal them is Naoki Yoshida, producer of Final Fantasy XVI, through a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog.
Starting to talk about the game world, Yoshida stated that the adventure takes place in a land called Valisthea, studded with mountains of crystals called "Mother Crystals", which have blessed the territory and allowed the various kingdoms to flourish. In fact, within the game there are several nations and the most important are the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, Holy Empire of Sanbreque, Kingdom of Waloed Dhalmekian Republic and Kingdom of Iron, profoundly differentiated from each other by cultures and ideologies. Such differences often led these nations to fight each other but it was the spread of Scourge to create the conditions for the fragile truce between countries to fail.
Also, as already mentioned, Naoki Yoshida revealed new information regarding the Main character of the game, that is Clive Rosfield. He is the eldest son of the Archduke of Rosaria and, like Scudo, has the task of protecting his younger brother Joshua, Or the Ruler of the Phoenix. The latter is able to transform into the Phoenix and, even if born into a royal family, treats everyone with a natural kindness. Both Rosfield brothers shared childhood with Jill Warrick. She was brought from her homeland to the Northern Territories - a nation that swore allegiance to the Grand Duchy of Rosaria - to become a protégé of the duchy, thus ensuring peace between the two kingdoms.
Yoshida further stated that the Eikon they are the most powerful and devastating beings in all of Valisthea, capable of being able to change the political balance in the event that a country is able to have individuals capable of dominating them, such as Joshua. The way in which rulers are treated varies from nation to nation: in some they are revered, while in others they are exploited as instruments of war.
In addition to this information, Square Enix has announced the arrival of the new dedicated website to Final Fantasy XVI, where it will be possible to find official information and artwork. Pending further information, we remind you that the title will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5.
