F1 2018 - Hands On of the next Codemasters driving simulator

F1 2018 it is one of those annual releases that often go unnoticed by those who are not passionate about a certain type of games, precisely those of running. In fact, Codemasters continues to deal with the official videogame series dedicated to one of the most exciting competitions ever, which will arrive in the course of this summer on all platforms. For the occasion we were invited to the Koch Media offices to get our hands on preview right on F1 2018, which we were able to test for an hour more than abundant. The component on which we focused in particular concerns the Career, which traces the various phases of the Championship in question, passing from the various tests, to the usual qualifications, to finally arrive at the expected competition. It is interesting to note at this stage a pleasant addition which, although it was not absolutely necessary, undoubtedly enriches the overall gaming experience: within it will in fact be present the press, which at the end of each challenge will ask us questions about it and about our team.

Furthermore, our answers on the matter will affect our statistics, but also the relationship we will have with the car manufacturer, which could become negative if we accuse the car of our failures. From the point of view of customization, we settle on rather advanced levels, having the possibility to create our avatar, but above all to be able to adapt our car to any weather conditions and according to our needs, remaining in line with the series . Undoubtedly, from this point of view the title is not particularly easy for anyone who is a neophyte of the genre, but even more so for anyone who does not have a particularly in-depth knowledge of the world of engines, who could find themselves confused by the amount of elements that we will be forced to take into account in order to obtain the best result on the track.

It should then be specified that each season will be unique, presenting within it precise and different regulations, forcing us to make a different point of the situation each time on what will be the most suitable strategy to be implemented. In short, from this point of view Codemasters seems to have put a lot of meat on the fire, especially for that slice of players who love to the core of the cars even from a purely mechanical point of view. As for instead the view, this risks creating a real split between the players, due to a first person view called "Halo", or the presence of the helmet that partially obstructs what is in front of us, and that not everyone could appreciate.

Nevertheless, it is also possible to switch to much more classic views, therefore also from this point of view the possibility of choice would seem to remain in first place. Overall, therefore, F1 2018 looks like a very complete title, from which the players of the past editions can only enjoy the small - but interesting - additions that the new Codemasters effort will present, although it is quite evident that it is not suitable for everyone, and that the more "user-friendly" players may not being able to appreciate every single element. Precisely, it goes without saying that the author of this article has a basic knowledge of the world of engines, and for this reason in some phases the difficulties encountered have been many, although at the same time the interest and the fun are not at all missed.

remind you that F1 2018 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC next 24th August.
