Electronics Arts would have canceled the Star Wars open world

The problems continue for the ex's Star Wars game visceral Games: after the Dead Space team closed at the end of 2017 the work was carried out by EA Vancouver but as Gamespot reports in these hours, development has been interrupted and the project is definitively canceled. Electronic Arts did not confirm the news but Jason Schreier of Kotaku spoke to some of his contacts within EA Vancouver, who reiterated how the works on Star Wars have been blocked recently at the precise request of the publisher.

Virtually nothing has been shown of the Star Wars open world, but other sources of Kotaku claim that the development name was "Orca" and that it would have put the player in the shoes of a criminal or a bounty hunter by having them explore different planets and do work with multiple factions. However, the team would not have been able to meet the deadlines and complete the project on time, considering the enormous amount of work also to be done. The project would therefore have been canceled in favor of a game of Star Wars which requires a lower budget and shorter development times, ideally ready for the end of 2020, probably at the same time as the launch of PlayStation 5 e Xbox Scarlett and that it can therefore come out before Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, apparently scheduled for 2021.
