With an official statement, Konami has finally confirmed that eFootball PES 2021 will also arrive on all mobile devices, in the form of Season Update for eFootball PES 2020. After having revealed the release date for the fixed consoles of this new stand-alone update for their flagship title dedicated to the game of ball, the Japanese software house has announced that even the players on Android and iOS devices will receive the long-awaited free update (unlike the one for console and PC which will be paid) starting next October. This season update will essentially serve to make the transition from the 2020 season to the 2021 season. The title will not undergo changes in graphics, gameplay or in the various game modes. Simply, the jerseys and squads of all the teams will be updated, adding or removing the official names of the teams if Konami had obtained or lost the rights.
Furthermore, this season update will not cancel any type of save present on the version that will be updated, allowing eFootball PES 2021 players to keep progress already done in the previous chapter, as explained in the FAQ on the official website of the game. Contrary to what has been done by competitors for many years now, Konami for this year has decided to make the new chapter of Pro Evolution Soccer a paid update of the title released last year, thus avoiding the release in stores of the yet another football simulator as it happened for several years now. The Season Update that allows you to switch from eFootball PES 2020 to eFootball PES 2021 is already available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One e PC starting from today 15 September. As for instead update for mobile devices with Android and iOS operating systems we will have to wait a few more weeks, as the long-awaited update is scheduled for an unspecified day of next October.
