Dustoff Z - Review, we face the apocalypse aboard a helicopter

The world returns to be invaded by zombies, but this time there will be few survivors protagonists of Dustoff Z, an interesting branded title Invictus Games, a production that follows, shortly after its launch, the second chapter of the renowned IP of the house N. Returning to the title in question, however, the few veterans from global pandemic that turned humans into creatures eat brains, will not find themselves taking up high-caliber or hand-to-hand weapons to permanently eliminate these horrid creatures, but will mount aboard a helicopter, piloted by a well-trained policeman, thus flying over various scenarios for carry out various missions.

The player will then drop into as the helicopter pilot in question and, with his own survivors, he will have to face scenarios full of enemies (As normal zombies, explosives, pitchers, sharks e more), complete missions specifications or rescue other humans to expand their army. So the time has come rebuild humanity from scratch; fighting the hordes of enemies will not be so easy given the different obstacles present within the various scenarios. Although the concept of the game may seem very simple, the commands will not be exactly intuitive (even if they are few).

It's time to take flight

Going to better analyze the game, but in more detail the game controls (as mentioned above), to get our helicopter off the ground we will have to press keys A and D at the same time, then moving (to the right) on the map by pressing D and returning to our base by pressing A. In order for the helicopter to land, it will be necessary release all keys. In doing so, our aircraft will begin to descend and prepare for its landing. During the flight, however, we will be able to use the weapons equipped to the vehicle pressing the RCTRL key; the last command instead present on the game concerns the activation of the winch in order to collect the objects of the missions, usable with SHIFT. As for the civilian rescue missions, once landed, we will have to press the E key to get the survivor aboard the aircraft so that they can be rescued.

The graphic interface of Dustoff Z is very simple and intuitive. First of all, we must start with the discussion on the type of game; actions take place without any depth then, on a 2D plane. During a mission, in addition to displaying the scenario, obstacles and aircraft, there will be three bars related to the top left helicopter health, fuel available e residual ammunition. Should these indicators drop, they can be replenished thanks to loot released upon the death of hostile creatures. It will also be possible refuel all three gauges simultaneously, landing on the rescue platform (present approximately in the middle of the map) also saving through a reactivable checkpoint in case of destruction of our aircraft.

As you progress through the levels, it will then be available to unlock and equip new aircraft or even new weapons, to better counter the hordes of enemies. Unfortunately, however, as regards the targeting of armaments, theArtificial intelligence "Hook" automatically the objectives and, based on the statistics of our comrades, the hits may or may not hit. The maximum number of soldiers that we can therefore bring during the various missions is equal to two; it will then be up to the player to decide which ones will be best recruits (which must however be constantly trained) who will be able to better counter the different types of enemies.

A lot of training but ...

Although the basic concept of the game may be extremely funny and, in the first moments of the gameplay, very engaging, a flaw of this title is precisely thebe truly repetitive. Of course, it must be recognized that the missions have different objectives and of ever increasing difficulty, but the basic concept is always the same. The scenarios, after the first hours of play, will be repetitive, interspersed with different boss fights that will test the skills of their players. What makes production really fun is there cartoon graphics in polygonal format that characterizes everything that characterizes the work. Even the colors of the various characters create a clear cut between "making the game nice" and the "hard and cruel world pandemic", thus allowing the player to immerse themselves in a better gaming experience in Dustoff Z.
