In the past few hours, a very curious piece of news has arrived, which leaves room for numerous hopes and suppositions: Derek Kolstad, American screenwriter of the John Wick (started in 2014 with the film of the same name) and by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier area of The Marvel movies, is currently developing a new TV series based on Dungeons & Dragons. Second Variety, it is simply one of several D&D projects currently underway; apparently in fact the film studio Hasboro eOne it would be currently in talks for another project of this type.
It should be noted, however, that Kolstad's work will try to create a story with a different incipit, which captures crucial aspects of the franchise through a style live action, thereby offering high hopes for fans. As you might expect, not much is known yet about the project in question: Variety has announced that "details on where Kolstad intends to take the plot or how it intends to expand the franchise have not yet been revealed", however it is thought that the man you hope to make money by taking advantage of the increase in new D&D fans who have started playing during the last period, particularly due to the pandemic COVID-19 which has prompted many people to stay inside the walls of the house in front of the PC.
For those who still don't know, Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy RPG created by Gary Gygax e Dave Arneson, first published in January 1974 by Tactical Studies Rules. What about other possible TV adaptations based on videogame works? According to reports over the past few hours, a new director will direct the next adaptation of the HBO di The Last of Us. Although it was initially speculated that the production would bring together Craig Mazin of Chernobyl with the director Johan Renck, now according to a report it emerged that Renck had to leave due to an argument.
