An old story, but with some news to discover

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the new title dedicated to the very famous and now eternal series by Akira Toriyama, makes us relive the adventures of Son Goku (Kakarot in the Sayan language) from the fateful meeting with his brother Raditz to the beautiful clash with Freeza, where our protagonist goes beyond his limits and turns into Super Saiyan. However, the developers have decided to add many new features within this narrative arc, introducing new stories and new characters which, although not present in the original plot created by the author of the manga, will blend perfectly with the entire narrative vein.

Players who approach this work will have the opportunity to follow the plot of the game by going quickly to the boss on duty, but they will also be able to decide to explore the great game world full of activities and side missions useful to level up. The latter refer to the classic style of role-playing games and require us, for example, to help a given character to face an impending threat or to search for a given element in the game map. There are also interesting activities that recall the very beginnings of the series, such as go fishing or hunt giant dinosaurs scattered around the clearings and canyons that make up the planet earth created by Akira Toriyama.Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot - Preview of the new game related to the Akira Toriyama saga

Combat in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

As anticipated, the new title of CyberConnect 2 it differs greatly from other titles related to the brand. The combat in fact focuses on the combination of a few keys, thus distancing himself from the cumbersome, albeit fun, gameplay of the previous works, where the player was required to have a certain skill in chaining the various combos and special attacks. In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot the player is not required to concentrate and think about which move to connect to the previous one, but rather, simplifying the fighting style leads him to relax and have fun at the same time. The special moves are in fact chosen by the player through a special interface reachable by pressing a button and the Ki useful for throwing them can be reloaded at any time, however, seasoning the opponent with total vulnerability to his attacks.

The entire combat system thus becomes more intuitive and immediate, thus giving the opportunity even to newbies to get close to this work and have fun. However, it must be said that, despite the simplification, a certain skill of the player is still required to perform the saves at the right time or to use particular techniques.

Also, as mentioned before, each fight will provide you with different ones experience points that, as your level increases, will allow you to acquire new skills and powers. Unfortunately, there is not much information yet, so to find out more we will have to wait for news from the developers.Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot - Preview of the new game related to the Akira Toriyama saga

Our expectations

Graphically speaking Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is really beautiful and leaves us ecstatic giving us breathtaking views. The introduction of the typical visual effects of the anime, for example enemies devastated by a fist that crashing destroy entire mountains, makes the whole adventure much more engaging and satisfying. The presence of the original soundtrack of the anime is the detail that completes and refines the entire work.

Summing up, the game in general seems very satisfying to us and is certainly a real feast for the eyes. We find the new gameplay system interesting that makes it more accessible to the general public than the other titles related to this brand released so far. So we just have to wait the first months of 2020, when Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will debut on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, to test it thoroughly.
