Disney +: Spider-Man movies will not arrive on the new Disney platform

In a recent interview Ricky Strauss, responsible for the content and marketing of Disney +, told The Verge that there are currently no plans to bring the two Spider-Man movies (Homecoming e Far from Home) on the streaming platform. Although both Tom Holland-led films were co-produced by Marvel Studios e Sony Pictures, the rights belong to Sony. This makes it infinitely difficult for Disney to transfer films to their service. Here are the details of the manager's words, which do not exclude any future program changes:

We love our friends at Sony, but we have no plans to bring the Spider-Man movies to Disney +. There will be all the Spider-Man animated shows we've made, so they'll be there, in the Marvel category. But who knows what will happen in the future.

Strauss went on to say that Disney is working on several offers to reclaim most of the MCU titles, which is why there are now far more Marvel titles available on Disney + than when the service was announced. At the moment, the only MCU movies not in the catalog are (besides the Spider-Man movies co-produced with Sony) Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Infinity War e Thor: Ragnarok. Which will remain on Netflix until the end of 2019, and will then be available exclusively on Disney + starting in early 2020.
