Disney + passes the milestone of 50 million subscribers

The new video streaming platform Disney +, first released in Canada, the United States and the Netherlands and in a large part of the world on March 24, 2020, after just five months of life it begins to come up with the first important numbers. The service offered by the house of Mickey Mouse can in fact already boast the remarkable achievement of 50 million subscribers across the globe in just five months.

Kevin Mayer, Chairman of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International, to celebrate this first victory said:

We are truly thrilled and honored that Disney + has been enjoyed by millions upon millions of people around the world, and we are confident and hopeful that all of this bodes well for our future expansion into the rest of Western Europe, Japan and across the globe. Latin America during this 2020.

With a huge fan base of all ages, consolidated and constantly expanding towards each new generation, the platform Disney + plans to compete with industry giants such as Amazon Prime Video e Netflix. With a decidedly more attractive offer on the economic level than some (€ 6,99 per month or € 69,99 per year against Netflix's € 15,99 per month, offering both 4K and 4 simultaneous accesses), we believe that between not much will the newborn service actually have its say with much larger and more important numbers.
