Devil's Hunt - we got our hands on the demons of 1C Company

Devil's Hunt it is a contrasting title: on the one hand it comes with refined and clean textures, on the other the gameplay sometimes lacks originality, in other situations we are faced with interesting narrative tricks and on the other hand the plasticity of the protagonist undermines the general pathos . In short, there is work to be done but not everything is to be thrown away. 1C Company takes us to a contemporary world, where our protagonist finds himself in hell and makes a pact with a demon: his mission is to return to earth and chase away the demons that have invaded our world, moreover the boy's secret purpose is to come back to life, freeing himself from the demon that gave him the powers.

Pad in hand the fluidity of the game has improved compared to last year, the development team has listened to the criticisms and addressed this lack; the combat is in pure Batman Arkham style, it is not possible to target an enemy but the system reacts like a magnet, directing our attacks based on the inclination of the analog stick. Comfortable? Not even for an idea! The "magnetic" system didn't work at all in the build I tested, failing several attacks. The attacks take place with the rear triggers, inconvenient beyond belief in a similar context, it looks like someone decided to blend Batman gameplay with Bloodborne / Dark Souls controls: the result is an undefined milkshake that doesn't pay off. The abilities that our darling can cast are devastatingly banal and some of them are ranged attacks… but remember? I can't target a specific enemy, ergo I found myself randomly targeting a spot on the screen most of the time, hoping to hit whoever I actually wanted to hit. In the short bossfight I encountered at the end of the demo, my hero became a fiery demon similar to the Dante from Devil May Cry 3, immortal and with very powerful attacks. Cute but nothing new, overall the game seems to come straight from 2009, hence dated. Interesting parts of the puzzle game, which I liked a lot more than the mere combat. Unfortunately, when dealing with such a genre, making mistakes is very easy. You then clash with such sacred monsters like God Of War, and if you don't have the right weapons, you risk being killed. For the moment I don't feel like promoting the Devil's Hunt title, but always with the reserve of being denied when the product is finished.
