Destruction AllStars - Preview of online multiplayer for PlayStation 5

As is now tradition since the last generation, Microsoft products (now division Xbox) has always had an eye for multiplayer titles, at least compared to traditional policies of Sony. The Japanese house has cradled the single-player stories with more care, addressing almost all of its own PlayStation Studios towards that direction. Perhaps a winning move, considering also that the most well-known cross-platforms have covered this lack without making it known, but this does not mean that the direction is now impossible to take. The company has in fact listened to some productions oriented to multiplayer over the past few months, publishing works such as Predator: Hunting Grounds, but also offering us modes like the recent expansion Ghost of Tsushima Legends. While we are still waiting to discover the hypothetical fate of a The Last of Us Part 2 Multiplayer, let's study more closely the next Sony production that will look towards this area: Destruction Allstars.

The title has been presented for some time now, but unfortunately over the months we have not yet had the opportunity to discover several fundamental characteristics of the work. While a trailer is still missing showing the gameplay, pad in hand - which could be pretty close as this will debut in less than a month when the PlayStation 5 launches -, however, we know some of the peculiarities that will characterize theadrenaline experience, coming as an exclusive to next-gen Sony. While we eagerly await new official information from the developer, we have analyzed all the data in our possession regarding Destruction Allstars: here's what we can expect from this crazy adventure!

Next-gen arenas on Destruction AllStars

With the ultimate aim of guaranteeing unparalleled entertainment, the AllStars will compete in out-of-the-ordinary arenas. The celebrities once took the field in the matches formed by 16 players (at least for the modality presented), they will find themselves driving evil machines, more bloodthirsty than the characters themselves. Remembering the eccentric play formula of Rocket League, these will not, however, have to bring home specific objectives, nor follow paths as is tradition for driving games, but destroy all opponents to the sound of rear-end collisions and overturns. It will not take long before the impacts with the vehicles and their sharp features reduce the competitors' vehicles to pulp, although in these cases the classic game-over or a respawn will be avoided and indeed, it seems that the beauty begins from that point!

Destruction AllStars - Preview of online multiplayer for PlayStation 5In the short sequences of the trailer captured on PlayStation 5 it is possible to see how the drivers - once ejected by force from their cars - find themselves at go around the arena in order to spread chaos on foot, riding overhead structures or even other vehicles themselves, which may somehow be hijacked and stolen. By giving your all and slaughtering your opponents in a short time, you will also have the opportunity to use the supreme abilities of each character. Each of the 16 currently presented offers specific different possibilities, which will be able to overturn the games if exploited properly, and some will specifically allow the use of a powerful special vehicle. The aforementioned mechanics is still to be discovered and it cannot be excluded that it is able to provide further variety to an experience that already seems to have it to sell.

Ready to compete

The Destruction AllStars competition will be able to use the potential of PlayStation 5. The developer Lucid games has not yet given birth to a work probably within the reach of this Sony exclusive, but has already juggled in the sector by contributing to important developments such as that of Need for Speed Payback. On the new console, the game will offer cutting-edge graphics thanks to the support of the 4K, which we hope will be coupled with ai 60 FPS or more, given the exciting nature of the play sector presented. We know for sure that il new hardware will allow almost no loading times, which are likely to revolutionize multiplayer experiences as well. On the graphics side the game seems to be quite inspired, we obviously hope that the different arenas can present a high overall quality.

As already confirmed, the developer will frequently update the work after launch through free content, such as additional game modes and skins, which will follow a well established roadmap, unfortunately not yet released. It seems that the game can offer us a lot and therefore we can't wait to launch ourselves in these bloody and catastrophic arenas, get to know the characters present and get in touch with this extravagant universe, factors that will be deepened by a stand-alone campaign mode; although it is undoubtedly not the main focus of the experience, it could be pleasant for the purposes of contextualizing the universe.
