Demon's Souls Remake: what is expected of the dead

Bluepoint Games, the Texan team that restored Shadow of the Colossus a couple of years ago, is ready to show us all its true potential with the progenitor of the "souls" series, that is Demon's Souls Remake. As often happens in these cases, doubts and anxieties can affect the player who has experienced moments of pure enjoyment (and infinite frustration, why not, given the title), thus leading him to fear that what he will have in his hands it will be nothing more than the shadow of the game that once amused him. Fortunately, the production seems to have been put in the right hands, to the point that at present it seems difficult to have doubts about the quality of the production: I was the first to be an advocate of this game, do you think I was able to recover my first copy in Korean when he was not yet certain that the title could land in Europe; it was tragic, I don't deny it. Let's take a step back in time, let's take Doc. Brown's DeLorean and catapult us back to 2009 when on PlayStation 3 this very complex title was released only for the Asian market. On hearing about it from the international press, he moved seas and mountains until he got a copy. It was complicated to say the least at the beginning to understand even remotely the meanings of the symbols (yes, give me some ignorant but I don't speak Korean!), But thanks to YouTube and to some users who made explanatory videos I was able to memorize what were the attributes, the weapons and all in all the purpose of the work.

My adventure broke down after a few months, disconsolate from not understanding how to proceed and from the impervious difficulty of the adventure. A little later, however, the American version came out, at that point I was on horseback; I bought the copy (always from the foreign market) and I resumed my adventure obviously starting all over again and with the accumulated experience it didn't take long to complete the mission. I even met a German guy who helped me a lot with the game, just think that we communicated with the "chat" on the Sony system, which meant writing very short sentences of 4 or five words maximum to avoid the player having to leave the game to read, answer and come back. Anyway, after some time, I took home the platinum of this masterpiece. Demon's Souls it changed me drastically, it forced me to change my approach, to overcome the difficulties first with the head and then with the pad, it allowed me to understand that each enemy is unique and however good you are, if you don't know him you will probably lose.

They called it Souls Like

Well, in light of the above, what would I like to see from this "new adventure"? I expect a lot, first of all because the team that put their hands on the title has shown its abilities, secondly because of "water under the bridges" and Demon's Souls Remake is something I've been waiting for for a long time; whoever is reading this, most likely knows the series as I do (and maybe even more so) and will certainly have spent hours in Anor Londo su Dark Souls, passing through the dark and obscure ghettos of Bloodborne, to then return to the world of the dark soul and complete the work with the third chapter. In the light of the games I mentioned it is clear that I expect an influence from them within the work: we could for example review the positions that characterized the gameplay of the third chapter of Dark Souls, or we could have to deal with a system that pushes us to continuous attack like the Bloodborne regain system. Unlike what happens with posthumous games, Demon's Souls Remake will not have an interconnected map, since in fact we will return to the Nexus to go from time to time on a mission at the various Archstone present in that Hub: in the original game it was present a sixth stone destroyed and it would appear that, over time, many players have found it within the game's code an entire map never published, full of elements such as snow and giants never seen before.

Keep in mind that DLCs weren't that common at the time and that a title once released could undergo some small corrective patches but that was the best: to date I also expect DLCs with extra maps and new weapons. Another typical feature of the game was the Tendency: a person could have a blue-colored good soul or a red-colored evil soul; this was going to affect the world in which one moved and moreover there was a weapon, probably the most powerful in the game, which if wielded with a negative tendency was almost useless while if the soul was good, the player was rewarded with a power beyond the ordinary. It would be a must to modernize the product with new innovations in terms of equipment and perhaps also for what concerns some intriguing multiplayer mode, given the power of modern consoles and especially the internet networks available today. Last but not least, we told you about the two graphics modes that are certainly not to be thrown away!
