After the airing of the third episode of the Night City Wire, a senior quest designer from CD Projekt RED confirmed that the plot of the highly anticipated cyberpunk 2077 it will not be as long as that of The Witcher 3. The action RPG of the Polish software house presents a campaign dedicated to the notoriously long main storyline, even if compared to other open-world role-playing games. This is partly due to the large number of activities, and side missions, with which to distract oneself in the Northern Kingdoms. While many fans have appreciated the large amount of content in The Witcher 3, others have never managed to finish the game and have complained about its length.

The main story of Cyberpunk 2077 is slightly shorter than The Witcher 3, because we have received a lot of complaints that The Witcher 3 storyline was too long.

The main quest of The Witcher 3 it can be completed between 30 and 50 hours of gameplay, but according to Mills' times, most players took much longer, mainly due to the various side missions. Depending on the style of play, it can take up to 200 hours to complete The Witcher 3. Also, according to How Long to Beat, a site that collects data related to the completion of the game, it takes on average about 51 hours to complete the primary missions by The Witcher 3, around 105 hours to complete the main storyline and perform some side missions, and it will take you a full 179 hours game for those who intend to fully complete Geralt's adventure.
Despite Mills confirmed that the development team has decided to please that slice of gamers who complained about the extreme longevity of The Witcher 3, consequently reducing the plot of Cyberpunk 2077, and not the content of the game as a whole, the new work of CD Projekt RED it will be a "much, much deeper" experience than previous Polish software house titles. We remind you that cyberpunk 2077 will be available from next November 19 2020 on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. Later it will also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S through the release of a substantial update.
